MINERAL BOARD INDUSTRY

  • Low pressure laminating for furniture boards and flooring

  • Siempelkamp supplies single opening presslines for the manufacturing of thermofused melamine faced furniture and flooring panels.

    Some features:

    - Raw board handling.
    - Paper pallet handling.
    - Paper lay up system in-line or crosswise.
    - Equipment for embossed in register operation.
    - Clamp-type loading and suction unloading device for the hydraulic press.
    - Single-opening hydraulic press for laminating decorative papers to the provided raw boards. This includes the hydraulic control unit and the secondary heating system.
    - Manual or automatic textured plate-changing device. These sytems are designed to remove and replace the various press plates which impart texture to the surface of the laminated board.
    - Scraper-cleaner for removing the oversized waste paper from the edges of the finished board.
    - Inspection station for the grading of the finished boards.
    - Cooling stations for dissipating heat absorbed during the pressing process for flooring panels.
    - Vacuum stacking station for producing stacks of various grades of finished boards suitable for shipment.
    - Strapping lines for preparing the stacks with banding for transport to the customer.

    Multi Power Press

The rapid development of laminate flooring has increased the demand for pressing thin HDF boards with decorative papers. As a result, short press times of approximately 12 seconds mean that the absorption of heat by the board is minimal, resulting in a geometrically stable product.

Compared to today’s conventional presses which have two rows of pistons, a 2.300 x
5.800 mm format Multi Power Press has four pistons across the width and ten along the length (i.e. a total of 40 press pistons).

The main advantage of this new design is much more uniform pressure distribution. This feature is a particular advantage for the lamination of HDF flooring and furniture panels which have greater width and length variations. The Multi Power Press comes with several pressure circuits which permit the optimum adjustment of lengthwise and crosswise pressure for different board sizes.

This press can be supplied in either single or double board design and is capable of up to 220 presses per hour (i.e. the double press produces 440 panels every 60 minutes).
